2.1a There are different sources of support available to you that will help you to progress your learning and development in your role. Complete the diagram below to identify some of the sources of support you could use or access.

2.1b Creating a Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a step by step process and will involve you working with different people. Fill in the boxes below to describe the process for agreeing a personal development plan and for each step identify who will be involved in the process.
Step 1: Agree on the objectives. For example, to train an individual on the safest medicine dispensation methods.
Step 2: Plan out the steps needed to achieve your objective. For example:
i. Read the Medication Policy Document
ii. Take a test to check the knowledge
iii. Take further external training
Step 3: Set out reasonable timeframes required to achieve your objective. For example, establish how long it will take to read and learn the Medication Policy Document and take the corresponding tests.
For each step the following people will be involved in supporting: – Relevant Line Managers
– Relevant External Training Organisation
